Formatting

Keyword::keywordname

Multiple keywords can be added to any Citation page, but each must be marked up separately, eg:

Keyword::Crime Keyword::Punishment

Alternatively (or in addition), you can use the following 'template' format, which is particularly useful for multiple keywords:

You then insert your desired keywords (multiple keywords must be separated by commas) as follows:

The OBPO Keywords

The keywords below are the only ones recognized by the OBPO Bibliography: you must add at least one of them for a new Citation to be included there. (However, if you plan to create your own bibliographies or reading lists on the wiki, you are not restricted to using the keywords below: you can add as many as you wish.)

They reflect quite closely the organisation of the historical background material and the categorisations of offences and punishments in the Proceedings database. The list is not final, however; new topics may be added to the bibliography in the future if necessary - for example, to reflect new research on types of offence that don't presently have their own sections. (If you wish to add a work that doesn't seem to fit into any of the existing sections of the bibliography, please contact us.)

London

Many works on London history will need at least two separate keywords: one or more for the period(s) covered by the work and one or more for the topics covered. There are also some general themes that do not require period keywords. The period themes in most cases follow a consistent structure for each century and don't need to be repeated when more than one century is covered - eg a work on 'culture and politics between 1750 and 1850' could be marked up as follows:

Keyword::Eighteenth Century Keyword::Nineteenth Century Keyword::Culture Politics
