The initial letter of the song forms part of a picture showing several individuals being buffeted by a strong wind emerging from giant bellows worked by Robert Fitzroy, here portrayed as a sailor, around whom fly various meteorological instruments (a thermometer and a self-registering drum). The song describes some of the disagreeable aspects of walking in the streets during winter, including 'the foul museums of the quacks'. | |
